Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority provides service to the community through its national programs. All sorority national programs and initiatives are under the “umbrella” of a signature program entitled, Project Reassurance.
Through Project Reassurance, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority seeks to promote responsible living highlighted by the slogan H3: It’s All About ME! which focuses on Healthy Living, Healthy Choices, and Healthy Generations.

BE THE MATCH
The Southwestern Region of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. is partnering with Be The Match to recruit life-saving blood stem cell donors to help disrupt the disparities affecting Black/African-American searching patients with blood cancers and other blood diseases like sickle cell anemia.

A cure exists, and it could be you!
In hopes of signing up the maximum number of new donors and saving the maximum number of Black lives, The Southwestern Region encourages you to join our race against time by joining the Be The Match Registry to potentially save someone’s life.

GOLDEN ALERT
Established in 2014, Golden Alertâ„ refers to the sorority’s social and legislative action activities, initiatives and programming designed to empower and engage by providing meaningful resources, action plans and solutions for the communities it serves. Golden Alert issues can be those which call for immediate action to address the various issues and conditions plaguing our communities.

MARCH FOR BABIES
Sigma Gamma Rho is a national March for Babies team, in support of our partner, the March of Dimes. We help babies by raising funds which can be used to sponsor research, medical services and support to families with premature births. Through this partnership, the sorority focuses on our H3- Healthy Generations.

OPERATION BIGBOOKBAG
OPERATION BigBookBag serves as an invaluable resource to children by: (1) Affording quick and easy access to reference materials and other studying aids and tools that will help them in their educational endeavors; (2)Providing a means of completing their homework assignments in order that they may remain current and up-to-date on course projects and requirements and (3) Assisting the shelters, centers, schools and hospitals in their efforts to meet some of the educational needs of the children.

ST. JUDE
Through the collaborative efforts of undergraduates and alumnae chapters of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, we have committed to raising $90,000 in honor of our Founders for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital through the Girls’ Night In Campaign.

SWIM1922
Swim 1922 is a partnership with USA Swimming designed to increase swim participation and decrease drowning rates in minority communities. Through this initiatives chapters around the wold host free water safety events and teach important life saving techniques.

YOUTH SYMPOSIUM
Sponsored in conjunction with and in commemoration of Sigma Week, the Sigma Youth Symposium focuses on some of the prevalent concerns that negatively impact our youth: drugs, teen violence, abuse, low self-esteem, suicide, teen pregnancy, etc. Held on the second Saturday of March by each Alumnae Chapter, simultaneous Sigma Youth Symposiums address issues that affect teens today.
