This scholarship is designed to uplift and celebrate young scholars in grades K–12 across Kaufman County who exemplify a commitment to education, cultural awareness, and community engagement.

By investing in the voices and visions of our youth, the Juneteenth Dream Builders Scholarship aims to nurture a generation of thinkers, creators, and changemakers who are inspired by history and driven to shape a brighter future. Through this opportunity, Xi Delta Sigma encourages students to reflect on the meaning of Juneteenth, explore its continued relevance, and share how its lessons fuel their dreams and aspirations.

Three scholarships in the amount of $250 each will be awarded—one in each of the following grade categories:

  • Grades K–4 (Elementary)

  • Grades 5–8 (Middle School)

  • Grades 9–12 (High School)

Young scholars are invited to submit a creative video essay that highlights their educational goals, community service involvement, and cultural awareness. This nontraditional format allows students to express their ideas using visuals, storytelling, and original presentation styles that reflect their individuality and voice. The goal is to create a compelling narrative that captures their passion, creativity, and potential to make a meaningful impact.
