Juneteenth at the Spellman

We are excited to present Juneteenth at the Spellman, hosted in partnership with the City of Forney and the Xi Delta Sigma Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. Join us for an evening of celebration, culture, and community as we gather to honor the significance of Juneteenth.

 

​​This free, family-friendly event will feature live entertainment, local vendors, food, and activities for all ages. Registration is encouraged.

Scholarship Opportunity

K–12 students in Kaufman County are invited to submit a creative video highlighting their educational goals, community service involvement, or cultural awareness initiatives. This scholarship opportunity encourages students to share their voice and perspective while demonstrating creativity, leadership, and a commitment to community impact, with submissions evaluated based on creativity, content quality, and alignment with the focus areas outlined in the application. Application deadline: May 1, 2026.

 

Call for Talent

Juneteenth at the Spellman provides a platform for talented individuals and groups to share their gifts in celebration of culture and community. Musicians, dancers, spoken word artists, and performers are invited to apply for the opportunity to take part in this exciting event and showcase their artistry for the community.
